As first and foremost a classical musician, Manjeet’s composing and producing skills stemmed from the necessity for Indian classical musicians to create and experiment with the conventions of a rhythmic cycle or scale. His work on The Blind Spot, Mistress of Spices, Bride and Prejudice and so on displays exactly this. Being given artistic licence to create tracks that appropriately bind these films together adds another feather to his cap as an already established artist and teacher.

Producer

Manjeet has also been a guest composer contributing to Deepa Nair Rasiya’s award-winning album, ‘Destination’ (Artist Aloud’s Best Album of the Year 2017), Keith Waithe’s album ‘Live in Concert: Rhythms of Freedom’, Mira’s ‘New Hope for the Dead’, Juliet Kelly’s ‘Spellbound Stories’, Uniting of Opposite’s ‘Ancient Lights’ and many more music anthologies. Additionally, Manjeet has worked on several standalone tracks exploring the role of tabla within genres such as electronic jazz. Moreover, he has co-created and produced the background score for the GNSA Parkash promotional feature that was aired on Star TV in 2012.

At present, Manjeet is collaborating with instrumentalists from a wide mix of cultural backgrounds for his album (due to be released soon).
